“A very helpful guide to patients considering entering clinical trials and to health and research professionals looking to assist patients and their families.  [Getz] provides a wealth of information, in straightforward language, and stresses the importance of asking questions.”

David S., Academic professor and physician

Now in its second edition, the Gift of Participation discusses the clinical research process and what it means to be a study volunteer including what patients and their families should expect; where to find information and clinical trial opportunities; the risks and benefits of participation; questions to ask; and volunteers’ rights. In addition to updated data and revised narrative, the 2nd edition provides new material on the role of social and digital media in clinical research, the collection of bio-marker data and genetic material, the Sunshine Act, and new rules about disclosure and transparency.

All proceeds from the book are donated to CISCRP to support its public education and outreach initiatives. To learn more and to order copies please click here.
