With a new year upon us, we have an exciting lineup of programs and events filling the 2016 calendar! Our CISCRP team is abuzz with activity and enthusiasm as we plan and execute a number of initiatives, including our Patient Advisory Board Panels, 5K Run and Walk events at the ACRP 2016 Meeting & Expo and DIA 2016 52nd Annual Meeting, AWARE for All events in London, DC, Miami, New Orleans, and Irvine, CA and fundraising for our science museum exhibit.
I’m pleased to share that the results of our new 2015 Public and Patient Perceptions & Insights Study are now available! This global study surveyed over 12,000 respondents about their views and experiences with the clinical research process. Along with the release of this data, we’re also holding facilitated discussions at corporate offices to review the insights and implications of the study with clinical scientists and operations teams.
CISCRP has recently released updated versions of many of our educational brochures: including a newly designed and revised ‘Should I Participate?’ brochure, previously offered as ‘Education Before Participation’. We’re hard at work updating four other brochures with the assistance of a review by an editorial panel made up of volunteers from patient communities, patient advocacy groups, clinical research professionals, and members of the general public.
We’re delighted to see growth in our Search Clinical Trials program as well, providing free customized clinical trial searches for nearly 3,000 patients in 2015.
Lastly, I’m happy to introduce myself as a new co-editor for our Patients as Partners newsletters, working alongside Maya Wise who has shared her words in our previous newsletters. I’m thrilled to be lending my voice to our quarterly updates and telling readers like you all about the latest CISCRP happenings!
