Spring is here and our calendars are packed with activity! Event preparations for the upcoming AWARE for All and Medical Heroes Appreciation 5K programs are in full swing. The Communicating Trial Results program continues to grow, along with our Patient Advisory Board Panels.
We have seen some changes in the office, both exciting and bittersweet. We are delighted to congratulate Teesta Bose on her new role as she transitions from an intern to Community Support Coordinator. Bryan Le, our current Community Support Coordinator will be leaving to start medical school this fall, and we wish him the best! In addition, the Development and Events team welcomes Alexandra Litwak, who will be assisting with event coordination and outreach.
CISCRP’s research team is hard at work getting ready to launch the 2015 wave of the groundbreaking Perceptions & Insights study, which will include the core questions from the 2013 study, and also hone in on differences in perceptions and experiences by disease condition and by race and ethnicity. At the same time, Perceptions & Insights Roundtable discussions are being held in cities all over the country in partnership with Acurian. The next roundtable event will be on May 7 in Chicago.
This spring is bringing a number of CISCRP events to look forward to! AWARE for All will be held for the first time in Washington DC on May 5 at the Marvin Center at George Washington University. The following month on June 9, AWARE for All is headed abroad for an inaugural international program in London, UK at the Camden Centre. We are thrilled to be expanding this program internationally and anticipate more events in Europe on the horizon.
The Medical Heroes Appreciation 5K at last year’s DIA Annual Meeting in San Diego was such a success, we are hosting two upcoming 5K’s at both the ACRP 2015 Global Conference & Exhibition in Salt Lake City on April 25, and the DIA 2015 51st Annual Meeting in Washington DC on June 15. Registration is currently open for all events, and we hope you can join us!
In addition, the Medical Heroes museum initiative is approaching its final stages of development with the help of dedicated sponsors and donors. This traveling museum exhibit will engage children and families in interactive learning about the clinical research process and the role that clinical trials play in advancing public health. All of these exciting programs and initiatives are made possible by our incredible supporters. We thank you, and as always, we welcome your feedback on ways we can continue to improve our newsletter.
Warmly,
